The 14th Australian Venture is to be held in Perth, Western Australia from 4 January to 15 January 2009. The theme for the
Venture is ESCAPE - a chance to experience the fun, adventure and freedom of being a young person at a Venture. It will feature a 5 day, 4 night expedition as well as onsite and off site activities from the Venture base.

New Zealand will be sending a contingent to the Venture, and applications are now sought for the role of Contingent Leader. Their responsibilities will include:

- Involvement with the planning for the contingent
- Selection of leaders
- Communication with leaders and youth members
- Development of the budget
- Development of travel arrangements and any pre or post Venture touring
- Communication with the Venture International Liaison leader

For Venturer Scouts interested in attending the Venture, it is now time to register this interest through the National Office ( email - admin@scoutingnz.org.nz ) to ensure that further information can be provided when received from Australia. Do not register direct with the Australian Venture website as all applications to attend an overseas event must be handled through the National Office.
